About Pathfinder Academy

Pathfinder Academy, a primary school located in Kiminini, Kenya, offers education to more than 465 students, primarily orphans and vulnerable children (OVCs). The school has both day students and boarding students. Pathfinder is consistently ranked as the top primary school in the district, with students performing better on standardized testing than students from any other school in the area.

As many of the students are OVCs, they often do not have parents or caretakers to pay their school fees. Pathfinder tries to accommodate such students as it believes that no child should be deprived of an education, but it is virtually impossible to run a school where the majority of students cannot pay to attend.

Therefore, Pathfinder relies on funds generated from its agriculture and livestock projects, volunteers, donors and student sponsors in order to continue providing a top quality education to its students.

World Kindness Coalition (WKC) is currently supporting Pathfinder Academy, a registered Kenyan non-governmental organization. Pathfinder Primary believes that no child should be deprived of schooling and strives to provide a top-notch education to promising orphans and vulnerable children who otherwise would not receive one.

With the help of generous sponsors from around the world, hundreds of bright children have graduated from Pathfinder Academy, continued their schooling, and gone on to become productive members of society.

When James Crenshaw, cofounder of WKC, first visited the program in Kenya, he left with a deep desire to help find the resources needed to help this community flourish
